So, your treasure has come to you. 🎉🎉🎉
Your first actions: show the puppy where its water, food, a stove bench and … a diaper stand!
By the age of two months, maltipu puppies are well aware of the diaper, its smell and purpose. But when the “place of residence” changes, the puppy suffers extreme stress, separation from brothers and sisters, disorientation in a new place and in a huge space for him.
First of all, we recommend restricting the puppy’s movement (for the first time) to one or two rooms so that he does not get confused in the new territory. ⠀ ⠀
Secondly, do not limit yourself to one diaper: for the first time, lay out a 3-4 diaper puppy in different places so that it is always in front of him. Over time, you will clean one diaper and leave only one where it is convenient for you. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀
If the puppy did the right thing, praise him, pet him, tell him how good he is and give a tasty treat (a slice of apple or banana). So the baby will understand that he did everything right. ⠀
⠀If you have carpets in the rooms where the puppy will most often be located, it is best to remove them for the first two to three weeks of adaptation. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀
We also do not recommend taking the puppy on long trips with overnight stays in the first 3-4 weeks of its adaptation. Give the baby time to get used to his house, to a new place and to where to go to the diaper. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀
Sometimes the owners teach the maltipa to go to the toilet on the street and this is also a great option for them. But do not forget to walk the puppy 3-4 times a day, and an adult dog 2-3 times a day. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀
On average, the period of adaptation in a new place and accustoming to a diaper takes from 2 to 3 weeks maximum. ⠀
